Warning: There may be some graphic photos in this post regarding foot protection for your pup!
"Why might a dog need shoes?" Well take a minute to think about it. Why do you wear shoes? To protect your feet from hot pavement right? The same goes for dogs they can't tell us when the ground is way too hot. I'll be attaching photos of what can and will happen to your pups paws if they walk on hot pavement for way to long. But do you only wear shoes because it's hot? No you don't, you also wear them to protect your feet from glass or anything else harmful on the road.
"What should I do to protect my dogs feet?" Boots are a huge way to protect your pups feet from anything harmful on the ground. Say you're going hiking with your dog and there are sharp rocks or glass on the hike, having boots would prevent your dog from stepping on either and having it go into their paw pad or the webbing of their feet. They are always great for freezing weather if there is salt on the ground to help with ice.
"Where do I get boots?"There are many websites to look for boots on. A big one that i've personally used is Ruffwear.com They are also awesome for any hiking gear or anything you might need or want for your pup. Doing research on different boot brands is a huge! find the correct ones for you and your pup make sure to read reviews if you're in dog groups ask around in those as well!
"What happens to dogs feet if it's too hot?" This is where I will add some photos of ways to tell if it's too hot and show what can and will happen to your pups feet due to the hot pavement. Both photos below were found on google. The second photos shows what it can do to your pups feet. The paw pads can get harmed exactly like your own feet if you walk on hot pavement for too long.
